Double the Fun… State Championship Parade!
Everyone loves a parade – but it was twice as nice with double the fun as CSH celebrated TWO State Championship teams as the town closed the street and welcomed a caravan of firetrucks with sirens hailing the teams in tow! The girls’ and boys’ varsity lacrosse teams waved to the crowds, as the community lined the street with banners and noise makers to share their pride. The mile-long celebratory walk ended at the park across from the fire station, with bagpipes leading the charge. This was truly a team effort spearheaded by Kim Testa, VP of the Seahawks Athletic Booster Club and Director of Athletics Michael Bongino. The Booster Club organization set up the Seahawk Tunnel and food tents in the park at the culmination of the parade. They worked in tandem with the CSH Fire Department, high school staff and parent volunteers that resulted in a truly successful show of support and recognition. For a school district to win two state championship titles in lacrosse in the same year is nearly impossible – and a remarkable achievement! This is certainly the first time in CSH school history that this has happened. These formidable teams have a rich history of state titles in CSH, with the girls’ varsity team winning 3 state titles in 2018, 2019 and 2024. The boys hold an astounding record of 7 state titles in 2006, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2022, 2023 and 2024! News 12 was on hand to witness and record this momentous achievement, honoring the coaching staff and both head coaches Danielle Castellane and Dennis Bonn. Congratulations Seahawks – it was a joy continuing the celebrations with you!
