After 99 years as a New York State Trout Hatchery, the hatchery opened as a non-profit educational center dedicated to educating visitors about the freshwater ecosystems of New York.
The hatchery offers unique public programs year-round and provides education programs for thousands of students from pre-K through college. Scouts, senior citizens, and groups with disabilities also attend the programs.The facility is proud to have the largest living collection of New York State freshwater reptiles, fish and amphibians. Visitors can tour the two aquarium buildings and eight outdoor ponds, feeding the hungry trout. Trout are also raised to stock private ponds.
