Internet Safety

  • In past generations, school children researched their projects by going to libraries containing books that were carefully selected for quality and validity by responsible librarians, in a safe environment. Today’s children first turn to the Internet when seeking information. One key difference is that a trained professional is no longer there to guarantee the quality of the information. The other is that the Internet can be an unsafe place unless our children are aware of potential dangers.

While Cold Spring Harbor Schools recognizes the Internet as an excellent resource, we also recognize our responsibility to protect the safety of our students while in our care, as well as our responsibility to partner with parents to assist them in doing the same.
