Hi!  My name is Alyssa Nordstrom and I am the Reading Teacher for Lloyd Harbor School.  Before joining the LHS community, I was a first and second grade teacher in New York City public schools, as well as an adjunct professor at New York University.  Lloyd Harbor feels like home, because it is also where I went to school!  I have loved returning to the Cold Spring Harbor School District and am excited for the school year ahead.  Teaching students to read and become lifelong readers is a passion of mine.  I believe every child has an inner reader inside of them, and I love to help them discover it!  I want learning to be fun and engaging at every turn, but also ground my practices as an educator in research.  I look forward to getting to know many families and working as a team to create strong readers!
