Central Parent Council Welcome Back Meeting Guest Speaker -Officer Levy, Internet Safety Presentation

The first CPC meeting of the year is always met with great anticipation and packed with insightful information as we begin the 2024-2025 school year. All the parent groups report on the upcoming school year, and it is a chance to meet and greet old and new friends along with the administration. Superintendent Joseph Monastero welcomed our newest members to the administrative team:

• Dr. Candice Brodie – Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
• Dr. Reanna Fulton - Executive Director of Instructional And
Administrative Technology
• Jeannette Alomia - Director of Guidance
• James Guarini – K-12 Music Chairperson

Superintendent Monastero also spoke about the upcoming Remembrance Bowl on September 27, and some special surprises in store for our community. CPC is a wonderful opportunity for community members to attend, listen, learn and ask questions. It’s the perfect “one-stop-shop” for many parents/guardians who cannot attend all the PTG meetings at each school. In addition to each PTG school organization, updates are heard from all the parent organizations including:

• The CSH Educational Foundation
• SEPTO
• FOCUS
• Arts Booter
• Cultural Arts Club
• Athletics Booster

CPC President Erin Rechler also welcomed guest speaker, Officer Levy, who gave a presentation on Internet Safety. Officer Levy continues to visit each of our schools every year, and these messages never get old. There are always new apps, new scams, and many fears. The presentation helps us to learn and understand ways to navigate and block the dangers our children can face on the internet. It is a conversation for all grade levels for best practices and setting down guidelines for the safety of our families. Thank you, Officer Levy, for keeping us abreast of technology and how we can remain safe and alert to its many challenges.

NEXT CPC MEETING: October 17, District Office Community Room, 9AM
