First grade students were so excited to “Light Up their Circuits” in the Creative Learning Lab with Library Media Specialist, Marissa Urso. Gathered around tables to engineer their very own “light up greeting card” by building their own circuit, the students in Ms. Andreacchi’s class were wide-eyed at the wonder of their creations. They learned about positive and negative charges, that LED stands for Light Emitting Diodes that glow when powered, and they watched their LED stickers do just that! Most made a Valentine card, while others rendered their own creative designs. Kids and parents alike were fascinated in this mini-challenge of designing their very own STEAM activity!
